I just can’t seem to get better.  Sore throat and an earache have plagued me for the past couple of days.  Last night I tried to go to bed early, taking something to help me sleep and drifting off at around midnight.  But right around 5:30am my eyes flew open and I was wide awake.  I stayed up reading, finally able to go back to sleep after about 45 minutes.  I just don’t require that much sleep so even when ill my body won’t let me sleep more than about 6 hours.  I am going to try again tonight to go to bed early, we’ll see what happens.

I found some maracas at the thrift store over the weekend and took them over to the baby’s house today.  You would have thought those were the best toy ever invented since the history of the world.  He shook and banged those things all.day.long.  At one point I was giving him a bottle just before nap time, and he was so close to falling asleep – his eyes were only about 1/10th open but still he had one of those things in his hand and kept slowly..slowly shaking it.  I think those are a hit.

The pumpkin festival was pretty fun, but really really expensive.  And the whole day seemed to go on for freaking-ever but I’m sure that’s because I forgot to bring cigarettes so I had to
spend 6 hours jonesing for nicotine.  I opted out of the corn maze because it was $8 a person and we’d already spent so much.  Mark and Emma went though with a few of the fly ladies, but some others stayed behind as well so I didn’t have to sit there alone.  Fun could be had for free, but not much.  Better yet was the delicious chicken chili dinner we had at one of the ladies’ houses afterwards.  She has a gorgeous house but it is nearly in the southern hemisphere – Roxborough for folks local.  It was a pretty good day.

Mark and I have both been really irritable the past couple of days.  Usually in a relationship only one or the other is bristly and snippy at a time, but when you both are at the same time – it’s not fun.  We’re basically staying out of each other’s way because conversation seems to beget confrontation.  It’s nothing major, I just don’t feel good and his contract is ending so he’s a bit worried about that.

Well I guess that’s about it, gonna take something for my throat and hope to get a good night’s sleep.  Hope you do too.
